Sicoma horizontal twin shaft mixer
Horizontal twin shaft mixer
The SICOMA horizontal twin-shaft mixer will achieve excellent mix quality in all types of concrete in the most efficient and fastest way, with maximum cement savings. It will maximize your productivity and reduce your cost per cubic meter. Ideal as a high-production central mixer from 40 to 360 m³/h.

Quality system
The manufacturing procedures for Sicoma mixers have complied with the ISO 9001 quality requirements since 19959 and were updated and approved by Cermet in 2009 as compliant with ISO 9001:2008.
3D printing
Since 1999, all mixers have been designed and continuously improved using three-dimensional modeling software.
Numerical control machining center
The mixer tank's carpentry is manufactured using an automatic numerically controlled milling machine to ensure perfect alignment and parallelism of the mixing shafts.
Running line
The mixers are assembled in line with very short lead times thanks to the high degree of standardization.
Patents
The mixer's sealing mechanisms, as well as other specific features, are protected by international patents.
Cuba reinforced
The reinforced structure of the tank eliminates the risk of deformation during transport (even in the event of a container collision) and during operation under load, ensuring proper sealing. Furthermore, it allows the scale support structure to be placed directly on the mixer without the need for additional support structures.

Mixing pieces
The drum lining is made of Ny-Hard cast iron slabs with a medium hardness of 530Hb. The mixing arms, with a reduced profile to prevent material buildup, are made of ductile iron. The mixing blades are made of Ni-Hard cast iron with a minimum hardness of 530Hb. They can be supplied as an option or for specific applications. Special blades with weld reinforcement and a minimum hardness of 600Hb are available; for example, these blades can be used with large aggregates. The high number of blades, their arrangement, and their orientations ensure the optimal balance between rotation and material circulation during mixing. Shaft supports and seals: The modular support, patented by Sicoma, features two precisely separated chambers. The bearing is lubricated with oil. The seal, achieved with a unique counter-rotating disc system, is lubricated with liquid grease.
Reducers
The mixing unit's gearboxes are of the epicyclic type. The first reduction is achieved with a pulley transmission equipped with a constant-velocity driveshaft to maintain seal synchronization. The low inlet speed to the gearbox allows the lubricating oil to operate at a low thermal load. The connection between the gearbox and the mixing tank is made via a unique bell-type system. This application, unique of its kind, provides greater rigidity at the connection point between the gearbox and the tank and, above all, facilitates access for assembly and maintenance of the sealing unit and shaft support bearing.
Alarm box
The mixer is equipped with numerous sensors: thermal sensors for the motors and gearboxes, an oil level indicator, and sensors for the control unit, as well as level and pressure sensors for the automatic lubrication system. Upon request, Sicoma can supply the Black Box, an electronic system that records the type, number, and duration of any malfunctions and triggers an alarm during mixing operations. The same system can be implemented for preventive maintenance.
Coverage
The raised cover (500 mm), equipped with two windows and no uprights, allows easy access to the mixer for thorough cleaning at the end of the work shift or for routine or extraordinary maintenance repairs, minimizing downtime. All Sicoma mixers are supplied with a key-transfer locking system (interlocks) to prevent accidental entry through the doors into moving parts of the machine.

Skip of inert load
The mobile loading skip is available for mixers in the MAO series up to the MAO 6000/4000. The lifting sheave is equipped with two reels that wind the rope and are mounted on the same shaft. The rope is fitted with a block to prevent the skip from falling in case of breakage and two limit switches that control the tension. Motorization for the dual-speed discharge can be supplied upon request.
weighing group
Thanks to the unique reinforced structure of the drum, Sicoma horizontal twin-shaft mixers can be equipped with a dosing unit mounted on top of the mixer using the mounting plates, without the need for additional metal structures. This system consists of a support structure with pre-assembled mounting plates, an inert material holding hopper, a cement scale, a water scale, and an airbag system with a support frame.

Hinged motorization
This unique feature of Sicoma twin-shaft mixers has been developed over the past few years to facilitate extraordinary maintenance of the shaft supports. The drive unit (motor, pulleys, and gearbox) is suspended by hinges attached to the corresponding side of the drum and can be easily opened without lifting equipment. In the event of extraordinary maintenance, mixer downtime is minimal, resulting in significantly reduced maintenance costs.
High-pressure washing
It consists of two tubes equipped with a number of nozzles equal to the number of mixing arms, and they are driven by a geared motor to allow them to reach all points where the concrete accumulates. The washing process must occur at the end of each mixing cycle. The water used is recovered in the subsequent cycle.

Motor for slow rotation of the shafts
This option uses an auxiliary motor to drive the shafts at a slow speed. A push-button switch activates the shafts safely, even with the inspection hatches open. End-of-shift cleaning and routine maintenance (including adjusting the mixing blades) will be quicker and easier. The control panel for the auxiliary motor is not included. We offer, as a separate option, the mixer's manual control panel, which includes the necessary controls for the auxiliary motor.

Precautionary alert system – black box
The mixer alarm control unit, supplied as standard, can be replaced with the black box that records and processes the data coming from the sensors on board the machine and from the control panel.

Double discharge gate
This solution allows the concrete to be directed at two discharge points, overcoming one of the limitations of the horizontal twin-shaft mixer.
Bomber discharge gate
All Sicoma twin-shaft mixers can be equipped with a discharge gate that allows the drum bottom to open to approximately half its total area. Discharge is extremely fast, even with low-slump concrete. This solution is particularly important for RCC concrete production and truck loading.
